Climate is another factor to consider. Sunlight, wind, rain and salty weather can all wear out exterior paint. Oil-based paint is durable against wind, rain and temperature changes, but sunlight tends to degrade it. Alkyd paint chalks and sheds very thin layers when it begins to wear. Latex paint is the more durable option for very sun-drenched and relatively dry climate areas. Latex paint with high vinyl content should be avoided, however. Acrylic resin is by far the more durable binder for outdoor latex paint. Westminster Home Painting

"They are truly professionals, caring about the most minute details of your home project. We hired them to repair stucco on our home and paint the exterior. I am very particular and often expect perfection. This husband and wife team exceeded my expectations, were reliable, trustworthy, and cleaned up after themselves. They also had a lot of patience when I was choosing colors and made great recommendations. Assunta has a good eye. I plan to hire them again to paint the interior of my house and repair and stain the concrete driveway. I have hired other painters before and been so disappointed with the quality, that I do the work myself. David and Assunta don't use spray guns so there is not paint all over the fans and fixtures. They paint the old fashioned way with brushes and rollers. Their prices were a little more than the other pros who bid the job, but they are fair, and the excellent quality and their dependability was worth it. We have found a gem and won't use any other painters." Westminster House Painting CO
Walls should be wet down before getting scrubbed, then washed with a gallon of water mixed with 1 cup chlorine bleach and 1 cup of either a concentrated, phosphate-free cleaner, such as a trisodium phosphate (TSP) substitute, or Jomax House Cleaner. Working in sections, from the bottom to the top, will avoid streaks. Be sure to rinse walls well before the solution dries. Wood siding and trim should be ready to paint after a day or two of dry weather. Westminster House Painting
